To quote an article, you must ensure that:

1. The quoted text is enclosed in quotation marks or formatted as a block quote.
2. The original author is correctly cited.
3. The text is identical to the original.

If you are directly quoting from a work, you will need to include the author, year of publication, and page number for the reference (preceded by "p." ...). If the quotation is 40 words or longer, place it in a free-standing block of typewritten lines and omit quotation marks. If you are summarizing or paraphrasing, you must put the passage from source material into your own words and attribute it to the original source.
